On Friday September 25th, Rise Properties hosted an exclusive VIP preview event and reception at theHomes at Fort Lawton, welcoming executives and members of the design, development, marketing and sales teams. The event was in celebration of those who helped transform the vision into reality, from the investors who believed in the opportunity and the development team executing the project, to the sales and marketing team ensuring its success.
The evening began with a ceremonial flag raising, which heralded the transfer of the homes from government ownership and use, to private homeownership and stewardship. Then the more than 125 guests toured the model home at Montana Circle and discussed the residential opportunity at this private enclave of historic buildings surrounded by acres of park, while mingling amidst hosted bites and libations by A Platinum Events.
As part of the celebration, Rise Properties also shared a few “sneak peaks” of things to come. Guests were introduced to the “Explore Discovery Park” App, which will guide users around the historic landmark and is set to debut on October 5th. In addition, attendees watched a special trailer of the forthcoming film, The Living Legacy, which premieres October 2nd:
Gary Blakeslee, Vice President of Rise Properties, then gave a few moving remarks, as he gave accolades to the team who put their shared passion into this proud offering. Given the multi-year journey of the project, Blakeslee expressed excitement over finally being able to deliver the community to passionate homeowners who will become the new stewards of Fort Lawton’s legacy. He also noted coverage by The Magnolia Voice from 2012, in which Tucker Stevens commended the value of the property.
Stevens wrote, “I was fortunate to serve my duty in 1962 at Fort Lawton the ‘Presidio of Seattle.’ This was also the same time period as the “Seattle World’s Fair.” The feeling at the time was, when this fort closes then this will become PRIME real estate. I realize that time has come.” Now that restoration is underway and the first home at 4426 Montana Circle is on the market, that time has truly come.
Blakeslee also touched on the significant media attention, which has ranged from articles and television news segments to blogs written on popular Seattle sites. The opportunity at Fort Lawton will likely continue to receive praise, as more homes are unveiled and the story unfolds. Stephanie McMahon, the listing agent with Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty, says that “the development team fully expects to have all homes at Montana Circle completed, sold and occupied by the end of 2015, before movement on Officer’s Row begins in the first part of 2016.”
